► ABOUT SHOP 55 WELLNESS CENTER

EBAYC operates Shop 55, a youth-driven one-stop student wellness center providing culturally-responsive, trauma-informed, and healing-centered support services, in partnership with the school and community organizations.

Shop 55 opened its doors in 2008, following an extended EBAYC youth participatory action research campaign. Shop 55 provides an integrated system of: 

  • Youth voice and leadership in Oakland High School Climate & Culture
  • Physical, behavioral, and reproductive health services
  • Health and life skills education
  • Life coaching and wraparound support
  • Peer-to-peer mentoring
  • After-school and summer academic support
  • Summer and after-school employment
  • Community-building activities
  • Crisis intervention

 
Shop 55 is anchored by EBAYC and is powered by strategic partnerships with key public agencies and community-based organizations.
