OASES Mentorship Program

The OASES Mentorship Program is comprised of over 200 UC Berkeley students and makes up the biggest volunteer force of any after-school program in the Oakland Unified School District. The program recruits, trains, and appoints college mentors to support our after-school programs.

Originally formed in 1983 by a small group of students from UC Berkeley who grew up around the Oakland Chinatown area, OSES mentors provide educational and social support for immigrant youth in Oakland.  In July 2012, OASES joined forces with EBAYC to expand its reach and impact. If you are a college student interested in learning more about OASES, visit our Facebook page.
