► SACRAMENTO EBAYC
Serving South Sacramento
Since 2014
► ABOUT
EBAYC provides life coaching, wrap-around support services, and peer support & youth leadership development groups to young people at Luther Burbank High School, Hiram Johnson High School, Grant Union High School, Valley High School, and Florin High School .
EBAYC started building program operations in Sacramento in 2014 in collaboration with Asian Resources Inc, a nonprofit social services organization serving Asian and other immigrant/refugee communities since 1980. EBAYC is located at 7000 Franklin Boulevard and provides direct services to 150 youth each year.
LIFE COACHING
EBAYC provides life coaching and wraparound support services to primarily Southeast Asian youth. Our goals are to reduce life functioning risks and increase resiliency; increase educational attainment; and increase independent living skills. EBAYC works in collaboration with multiple high schools and behavioral health service providers.
PEER ADVOCATES
EBAYC Peer Advocates are social support groups for young people at three Sacramento high schools. EBAYC Peer Advocates meet twice-a-week and engage young people in mental health education workshops, talking circles, participatory action research, and media arts production. Two cohorts of EBAYC Peer Advocates are organized and facilitated each year.
SAC KIDS FIRST
EBAYC is a co-founder of Sac Kids First, Sacramento’s largest grassroots coalition with 36 member organizations and over 1,900 individual supporters. Sac Kids First engaged in a five-year organizing campaign that resulted in the passage of the 2022 Sacramento Children & Youth Health & Safety Act (Measure L) by Sacramento voters. The Act requires the City of Sacramento to establish the Sacramento Children‘s Fund by dedicating 40% of total annual cannabis business operations tax revenue to provide funding for youth mental health, substance use, violence, and homelessness prevention services.
